Heavy duty brackets.These brackets were re-purposed into a pot rack across a kitchen wall. Using three sets of brackets, 4-6'x1/2" sections of metal conduit, and some S-shaped planter hangers, I now have places to hang everything in my kitchen. The brackets are heavy and sturdy and once screwed into the wall, there is no bowing or leaning at all. The screws are long enough to hold up under the pull of all of my pots and pans and utensils. There is roughly 110lbs of metal kitchenware hanging from the rods.If you have heavy curtains, these would be excellent. We mounted them into a wall stud alongside a window frame and they absolutely won't budge.

Great price for a great product! I bought these to use in my daughter's room because I wanted to use a valance with a curtain as well. Easy to install, matched perfectly with the exsisting curtain rod. This product is heavy duty & does not look cheap at all. Recommend this product to anyone wanting to use a double curtain rod!
Double Hung Curtain Brackets
My new 8 month old puppy destroyed my living room and dining room window treatments the first time she was left alone. I searched all of the major stores, including Home Depot, JC Penney's, Sears, Lowe's, etc, to no avail. I did an internet search and found precisely what I was looking for. My curtain rods were intact, however, the existing brackets were demolished, as were my mini blinds and curtains. The brackets went up easily, are heavy duty, and match the curtain rods. They were shipped and delivered in less than a week and were easy to install.

Decision on historic home sparks fears for others
A full peer review of the consent decision follows revelations by the Herald that Mr Dales was given the case at the 11th hour.
Mr Dales replaced a council planner, Jonathan Blackmore, who had been working on the application for five months and supported the view of the council's conservation architect, Stephen Curham, that the application should be declined.
In his report, Mr Dales said he was not a heritage expert, but cited his broader planning skills as a reason for reaching a different conclusion to Mr Curham and Mr Blackmore.
Mr Chambers, a lawyer, said Mr Dales was "plainly wrong" in his interpretation of the district plan and the objectives and policies for the Residential 1 heritage zone.
If land value determined the future of heritage homes, "then the protection of historic homes in historic areas such as Residential 1 are doomed".
Heritage advocate Allan Matson is highly critical of a report in favour of demolition prepared by heritage architect Dave Pearson for Ms Armour's planner, Martin Green.

Thank you for writing. I have a few ideas for some updates you could make in the living room area. I think the arrangement of furniture works for the space, but here are my suggestions for some other improvements.
Add drapery panels
One thing I would like to see would be the addition of some drapery panels on both windows. I suggest a solid-coloured fabric for these panels; there is a lot of pattern in the fabric on the furniture upholstery and in the rug in the room, so I would keep these drapery panels in a solid colour that coordinates with your existing wall colour. It could be a French ivory colour, or an oatmeal colour.
A light neutral would work best. If you sew you could probably make these panels, and maybe a pillow to match, too.
I would lean towards removing the sheers altogether, and then your drapery panels can be functional closing curtains. Or, since privacy isn’t an issue, you could make them stationary decorative panels. If you want to keep the sheers for an added layer of interest, you could try that, but I would remove the gathered valance at the top of the sheers and hang a simple dark rod across the top of the window and extend the panels past the window.
